Going thru my old recipe drawer... I find this....   Anyone ever heard of this??
4 1/2 lb. (9 cups) fruit
2 1/2 lb. (5 cups) sugar

Pick and wash fruit and place with sugar in a gallon jar.  Fill with cold water.  Cover with cheesecloth and keep in a warm place.  Stir twice a week for 6 weeks.  Strain and let stand 2 weeks longer.  Strain again and bottle.  Do not cork or seal tight for several more weeks.
