Easy Peach cobbler

My Mother-in-law brought me some fresh peaches yesterday... I started cutting them up, and my husband started drooling...  He asked me, "ARE YOU MAKING PEACH COBBLER?"... I am thinking, I have never made a cobbler.. a crisp, a brown bettty maybe... never a cobbler... LOL  So I get on the internet and find this recipe.. Turns out it is the same recipe my m-i-l uses! Meanwhile, my husband has never wanted to go to the grocery so fast to get anything, he has his shoes on and keys in hand... off to get Vanilla Ice cream!
I actually used 1 cup of milk, baked it for a little bit longer.. maybe 45 min.
It turned out really, really yummy!!!
1 stick butter

□ 1 c. sugar

□ 1 c. flour

□ 3/4 c. milk

□ 2 cans peaches

Mix together sugar, flour, and milk. Pour into baking dish. Melt butter and pour over other ingredients. Mix together. Heat peaches and pour over mixture, but do not stir. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown on top at 375 degrees.

  1. This is the recipe I use. I also use 1 cup of milk. I like to double the milk, sugar, flour and it gives you more bread. That's my fav part. You can use the bread mix. for any cobbler. I have done peach, blackberry, and strawberry. With the strawberry I used strawberries and the gel. It was good.

  2. Here is a friend of mine's recipe for a chocolate cobbler. She likes to use the Hershey's dark cocoa.

    6 tablespoons of butter
    1 cup self-rising flour
    3/4 cup sugar
    1 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
    1/2 cup milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    ------
    1 cup sugar
    1/4 cup cocoa
    1 1/2 cups boiling water

Place butter in 8x8 dish. Melt in oven while preheating to 350. Stir together flour, sugar, and cocoa. Add in milk and vanilla stirring until a batter forms. Spoon batter over melted butter from the oven. In a separate bowl, stir together the 1 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa. Sprinkle over butter and batter.
Note: With each step, be sure to not stir together in the baking dish. It looks a little weird just spooning the batter over the butter and then sprinkling the other on top, but it works for some reason. Carefully pour boiling water over all of the ingredients. Bake for 30 minutes or until set. 33 minutes is the magic number in my oven.
I have not made it, because I would consume the whole thing by myself in 1 sitting. She posted pics and it looked divine.
